MATERIALS & INKS

We offer 2 types of wallpaper materials:

  1. Peel and stick wallpaper is made from 100% polyester woven fabric with adhesive backing and can be repositioned up to 24 hours after the first application. The polyester textile is made from recycled materials, has a matte surface, and most importantly, is PVC-free.
  2. Traditional Non-pasted non-woven wallpaper is paper-based, with a matt finish and soft touch. It is free of glass fiber, plasticizers, solvents and is PVC-free, making it one of the more environmentally-friendly options in the industry.

We use 2 types of inks for printing wallpaper:

  1. Our peel and stick wallpaper is printed using resin inks that are eco-friendly and odorless. It is a perfect blend of sustainability and performance because the ink is water-based, and it is better in terms of scratch resistance compared to the wallpaper offered by other wallpaper companies.
  2. Our non-pasted wallpaper is printed using ECO-solvent inks.

Peel and stick is an industry term that stands for easy-application wallpapers that can be applied without soaking the back of the wallpaper or applying wallpaper glue. Peel and stick wallpaper, compared to other wallpapers, has an adhesive backing paper, which can be peeled off, and the back of the wallpaper is ready for application on the wall without glue.

Non-pasted wallpaper is a traditional wallpaper that requires adhesives to be applied either directly on the wallpaper or the wall. It is printed using the latest technologies and ECO-solvent inks. This ensures our wallpaper has rich, vivid colors and helps your walls stand out. By purchasing our traditional wallpaper we can assure it meets the following certifications: Nordic Swan, GreenGuard Gold, French-VOC, AGBB.

Our peel and stick and Non-pasted wallpaper will last several years and even longer, depending on the humidity level and heat.

The tallest-ordered wallpaper panel applied to the wall has been 180 inches. Therefore, the maximum length we currently recommend is 180 inches.

The material will last up to 10 years (and even more), but it mainly depends on environmental factors and whether the wallpaper has been in direct sunlight since UV radiation can affect pigmentation.

Any color is prone to fading to a certain degree due to the impact of UV rays. Our ink is more prone to fading due to UV rays after 3 years. Please keep in mind that environmental criteria can’t be measured, and these are approximate estimates that vary from one living space to another.

MEASUREMENTS

Our wallpaper is sold per panel to ensure the design pattern can be aligned since all our wallpaper designs are straight match prints. Moreover, our wallpaper doesn’t require an overlap; therefore, you don’t need to calculate extra material for overlaps. In order to calculate the amount of wallpaper, feel free to use our wallpaper calculator.

Step-by-step guide for using our calculator:

  1. Measure the following dimensions of each wall: width and height. We recommend entering the dimensions of each wall and calculating the required number of panels. You can enter imperial units—inches or feet—or metric system units—centimeters.
  2. Find out how many panels you need and how much it will cost (wallpaper calculator).
  3. Open any product and select the recommended size and quantity.
  4. Click or tap the “add to cart” button to view the order total and proceed to checkout.

A step-by-step guide to calculating the required amount without using our calculator:

  1. Measure the following dimensions of each wall: width and height.
  2. Divide the width by 19 (inches) for peel and stick fabric OR 29 (inches) for Non-pasted wallpaper and round up to the next number to get the number of wallpaper panels; for example, 8 peel and stick panels for a 147-inch-wide wall (147/19 = 7.73) OR 6 Non-pasted panels for the same wall (147/29 = 5.06).
  3. Find the wallpaper length (19, 48, 96, 108, or 120 inches) for peel and stick or (29, 96, 108, 120, or 144 inches) for Non-pasted that is suitable for the height of your wall. For example, size 19 x 108 for a 107-inch-tall wall, etc.

In order to make sure you order enough wallpaper, we suggest the following few steps to ensure you have the right measurements:

  1. Do not include crown molding and/or baseboard in the height of the wall to avoid ordering unnecessary wallpaper.
  2. Please measure the height of the wall on both sides of each wall since the actual height of the wall might slightly vary. You need to use the longest measurement; this way, you can prevent any gaps between the ceiling and the wallpaper.
  3. Please measure the width of the wall at the top and at the bottom of the wall since the actual width might slightly vary.
  4. Include doors and windows (or any other obstacles) in the measured area.

PEEL & STICK APPLICATION

Our peel and stick wallpaper can be used in a bathroom under certain conditions. First, after the application, peel and stick wallpaper can’t be in direct and consistent contact with water (inside a shower cabinet, right next to a bath, etc.). Second, peel and stick wallpaper must be applied on a dry and clean wall; otherwise, it will not adhere properly. It will not stick, and/or it may start peeling off if you have applied it to a damp surface. Third, most likely, it will not work if there are ventilation problems and extreme humidity in the bathroom.

Our peel and stick wallpaper will stick to concrete. You will first need to clean the concrete. Keep in mind that wallpaper works best on smooth surfaces. For better performance on concrete, we recommend applying lining paper.

Our wallpaper is not recommended for textured walls to ensure the best possible performance and appearance of the wallpaper. However, we have found in tests that our peel and stick wallpaper does stick to a variety of lightly textured walls better than various vinyl wallpapers.

However, we recommend ordering a sample of the wallpaper and keeping it on the wall for 2-3 days. If the wallpaper remains on the wall and is not peeling off, you can place an order. Nevertheless, none of the wallpapers will hide the texture of your wall after application. Therefore, pay attention to the surface of the wallpaper after its application on the textured wall to make sure you are satisfied with the outcome.

Our wallpaper will stick to most flat, dry, and clean surfaces if they are not heavily textured. However, it is recommended that you order a sample to try it out and see the outcome. Do not apply it on surfaces that have been painted with oil-based paint.

Our peel and stick wallpaper will stick onto a tile wall, but we recommend ordering a sample to ensure that tile joints are not visible after applying the wallpaper. In most cases, the gap between tiles is filled with grout, which is slightly below the surface of the tile, and after applying wallpaper, joints can be visible.

You can apply our peel and stick wallpaper to paneling if the paneling is smooth. Keep in mind that over time, adhesives can impact the surface of the paneling, and we can’t guarantee that paneling paint will stay the same over time. Again, similar to application on wooden surfaces, peel and stick wallpaper shouldn’t be applied to greasy or oil-based paints.

It will stick to kitchen cabinets similarly to any smooth wooden material with a smooth surface. Just make sure you remove any grease and dirt before the application. Again, similar to application on wooden surfaces, peel and stick wallpaper shouldn’t be applied to greasy or oil-based paints. During our test, it was very easy to apply the peel and stick wallpaper on the MDF kitchen cabinet.

You can use our peel and stick wallpaper for dollhouses similarly to other smooth surface wooden materials. Feel free to check the kids’ room wallpaper category or send us a pattern you found online. We might still be able to provide it even if it is not available in our shop now.

Peel and stick wallpaper is often ordered and used for a backsplash. However, you need to keep peel and stick wallpaper—or any other wallpaper—away from open fire and heat. In case of using it for a backsplash, we recommend applying it on a smooth, dry, and clean surface. Please apply a primer on drywalls if they haven’t been covered with plaster or any other coating.

Applying self-adhesive wallpaper to the ceiling is also an option, and we have seen pictures of our customers doing so. It can be applied to the ceiling if the surface is smooth, but it might require extra effort since the application has to be done over your head.

NON-PASTED APPLICATION

Our Non-pasted wallpaper can be used in a bathroom under certain conditions. First, we recommend using common pastes which are made for paper-based non-woven wallpapers like Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear (available in the US) or Methylan Direct (available in Europe) for non-woven wallpapers. Second, after the application, Non-pasted wallpaper can’t be in direct and consistent contact with water (inside a shower cabinet, right next to a bath, etc.). Third, most likely, it will not work if there are ventilation problems and extreme humidity in the bathroom.

Our Non-pasted wallpaper will stick onto a tile wall if a suitable paste is used. Check with your local paste vendors. However, we recommend ordering a sample to ensure that tile joints are not visible after applying the wallpaper. In most cases, the gap between tiles is filled with grout, which is slightly below the surface of the tile, and after applying wallpaper, joints can be visible.

Keep in mind that over time, adhesives can impact the surface of the paneling, and we can’t guarantee that paneling paint will stay the same over time. Again, similar to application on wooden surfaces, make sure that you use a proper paste so it does not ruin the surface.

Non-pasted wallpaper can be used for a backsplash. However, you need to keep Non-pasted wallpaper—or any other wallpaper—away from open fire and heat. In case of using it for a backsplash, we recommend checking what kind of paste is best to use on your backsplash area with a local paste vendor.

Applying Non-pasted traditional wallpaper to the ceiling is also an option. It will require extra effort since the application has to be done over your head. Also the paste has to hold more weight in comparison to vertical surfaces.

PREPARATION

It is not recommended to apply it to textured walls because the back of the wallpaper will not adhere as well as it would to a smooth surface. Moreover, the texture most likely will be visible through the wallpaper after its application as the material is not fully opaque. Therefore, we recommend applying it only onto smooth walls.

However, some of our customers have used it on orange-peel or knock-down textured walls. We don’t recommend doing it and can’t guarantee the performance on such walls.

It is not recommended to apply it to textured walls because any undertone or texture underneath most likely will be visible through the wallpaper after its application as the material is not fully opaque. Therefore, we recommend applying it only to smooth walls.

However, the application of a proper wallpaper paste will allow the use of it on lightly orange-peel or knock-down textured walls. Although we don’t recommend doing it and can’t guarantee the performance on such walls.

  • If you want to preserve the wall painting in its original condition, we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks for the paint to fully cure before applying peel and stick wallpaper. Even though the wall might look dry, the paint has not completely cured.
  • In case you don’t want to preserve the wall painting in its original condition, feel free to apply it to the wall after several days.

You need to use a primer if you have bare drywall. For other types of walls, it is not mandatory.

We recommend cleaning the wall with a damp cloth and letting it fully dry before applying the peel and stick wallpaper to ensure that the wallpaper will adhere properly to your wall.

For better results, we recommend cleaning the wall with an isopropyl alcohol cleaning solvent. You can spray it on the cloth and wipe the wall with the damp cloth. Follow the cleaning instructions provided by the solvent manufacturer. After any wall cleaning with a damp cloth, it must dry fully.

We recommend that you remove outlet and light switch covers before applying the wallpaper.

TOOLS AND APPLICATION

We recommend the following tools for peel and stick wallpaper application:– level– utility knife– tape measure– scissors– squeegee or plastic ruler

We have prepared this step-by-step guide:

  1. Unroll the wallpaper if you haven’t already done so.
It is not mandatory, but we recommend leaving the wallpaper unrolled for an hour or two to ease the installation process since the wallpaper has been rolled up in the package during the delivery time and most likely has curled. You can place some heavy, but clean, items such as books on it if it won’t stay on the floor.
  2. Find a level spot on your wall.
Find a level spot to make sure that the wall is straight. You might end up applying wallpaper at a slight angle if the wall is not straight.
  3. Peel the backing off.
Peel the paper from the wallpaper backing about 10 inches (20 centimeters) from the top. It will be easier to apply the top of the wallpaper sheet which is the most important part of the application process.
  4. Apply the wallpaper.
Apply the wallpaper on the top of the wall where you have found a level spot. You can start slowly smoothing the wallpaper from the top with a squeegee or dry sponge until you reach the point where the wallpaper backing has to be removed again by another 10 inches. We recommend removing the backing step by step to avoid applying a large piece of wallpaper at once without smoothing it out to prevent air bubbles. This step-by-step application of 10 inches (20 centimeters) at a time allows you to remove the last part of applied wallpaper from the wall in case too many bubbles have formed since our peel and stick wallpaper can be repositioned up to 24 hours after application.
  5. Smooth out the wallpaper.
Smooth out the wallpaper, and remove any air bubbles with a squeegee, plastic ruler, or dry sponge.
  6. Apply the second panel.
Our peel and stick textile doesn’t require overlap since it doesn’t shrink over time. Therefore, place the second panel on the right edge of the first panel, not on it. Repeat steps 1-5 again.
  7. Cut off the excess material.
When all wallpaper panels are applied, cut off excess material at the top and bottom of each panel. Cut any excess material around electrical sockets and light switches.
  8. Finish by giving a final smoothing.
We recommend giving another round of smoothing after 2 days and another time after 2 weeks to ensure the wallpaper sticks properly to the wall.

We recommend the following tools for Non-pasted wallpaper applications:

  • paste (not included with purchase)
  • level
  • roller or brush
  • flexible smoothing tool with round corners
  • sponge
  • utility knife
Accordion Content

We have prepared this step-by-step guide:

  1. Lay out the panels before you start in order to verify the positioning of the wallpaper panels.
  2. Using a pencil and a level, draw a light line down the wall (plumb line). This line will be the starting point for hanging. Mark a perpendicular line so that the first length can be hung at 1″ (3 cm) through the corner. Be sure not to make the mark too dark, otherwise, it may show through lighter colored papers.
  3. Using a brush or a roller, apply an even layer of wallpaper paste where the first two panels will go. We recommend Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear® (for US customers), Henkel Metylan Direct® (for EU customers), or similar adhesive.
  4. Be sure not to paste the whole wall as adhesives applied too far in advance may dry out before wallpaper can be hung. Be careful not to get glue on the design. If that happens, clean it off with a damp cloth/sponge immediately!
  5. Maneuver the first panel to the correct location, beginning at the top and ensuring that the wallpaper is straight. It is best to leave about half an inch at both the top and bottom in order to better trim the paper. After you’ve properly hung your first piece, you should start to flatten out any air bubbles with the smoothing tool. This will also ensure that the wallpaper will adhere correctly. Begin at the top of the wall, continually moving down to smooth and adhere your paper, carefully working to make sure that any extra adhesive does not seep out. It is best to refrain from using rough tools such as squeegees that can mar or rip your wallcoverings. Always take care to wipe up any extra adhesive with a damp cloth or sponge before it dries. It is much more difficult to remove the paste once it has dried.
  6. Once you have properly installed the first panel, continue placing the next pieces one at a time, aligning each seam against the other, being sure not to overlap. Again, ensure that you quickly use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe up any extra paste from the seams or paper. In order to achieve the best results, we recommend using a seam roller to ensure proper adherence and a smooth look.
  7. When all the panels are in place, trim any excess wallpaper at the ceiling and skirting board with a ruler and utility knife; always move the ruler while keeping the knife in the cut. When cutting the wallpaper, make sure to use a sharp paper knife to avoid tearing the paper.
  8. After the wall is complete, avoid any drafts and temperature/humidity changes for 24 hours to ensure that the wallpaper adheres properly.

Tip: Wall damage can be minimized or eliminated by using a quality wallpaper primer

CARE

Yes, you can clean the wallpaper with a damp, soft, and non-abrasive cloth or sponge. In case of deeper stains, you can try soaking the cloth or sponge in soapy water. Do not scrub textile wallpaper since it may damage the design.

We do not recommend it since sunlight contains UV rays, which can make colors fade over time.

REMOVAL

Start at the corner of the sheet and work parallel to the surface. You can peel the wallpaper up or down, whichever you find more convenient.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • Do not overstretch the material during the removal.
  • Remove the wallpaper slowly, working parallel to the surface.
  • In case of resistance, you can heat the area with a regular blow dryer to weaken the adhesive and easily remove wallpaper.

When installed using a strippable adhesive (for example, Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear®), non-woven wallpaper can easily be removed without damaging walls.

Remove wallpaper by peeling the wallpaper off—slowly up or down at a 90-degree angle from the wall.

Tip: Wall damage can be minimized or eliminated by using a quality wallpaper primer
